Food for thought...

I believe, redefining gender roles is an important step in moving this country, and other parts of the world, along a positive and progressive path. With that said here are two articles, from both the male and female perspective, on some of the gender issues that are important them.

I come from a long line of engineers. My great-grandfather and grandfather worked on the Apollo missions. In fact, my great-grandfather was responsible for the model used to build the Lunar Lander and my grandfather's was one of the final signatures on the Lander before it was launched into space. So it should come as no surprise that I'm a dreamer myself and I believe anything is possible, we just have to figure out how! This blog is operated under two "principles" borrowed from The Venus Project (links below). The first is that, "If technology does not liberate all people for the pursuit of higher aspirations in human achievement, then all its technical potential will be meaningless". We can and should use advances in technology (many of which already exist) to meet, at no cost, the basic human needs of food, water, shelter, clothing and transportation. Second, we should strive for this reality in order to remove money from the central place it currently holds in our Money/Market System Economy (and move towards a Resource Based Economy) because: "Money is only important in a society when certain resources for survival must be rationed and the people accepts money as an exchange medium for the scarce resources. Money is a social convention...It is neither a natural resource nor does it represent one. It is not necessary for survival unless we have been conditioned to accept it as such." By eliminating the NEED for money to buy the necessities, we make it possible for a truly fair system to emerge. A system where you don't have to count on the misfortune of your neighbor for your own good fortune and every voice is heard no matter how little money is behind it. An Era of Abundance!
