I've always affirmed, when I eventually have more money than I needed to spend, that I would love to be a patron for the research and development of convenient, portable and cheap water filtration, for countries who's people have limited access to clean water. So this report on just such an innovation, currently being used in Haiti, was encouraging to see!
Several members of my family have served in the current war(s) and are still greatly affected by that experience. Here is a great story about a Veteran's retreat here in my neck of the woods.
