First, I wish the TAB key did the same thing in these text boxes that it does in a word processing program. I've tabbed out of this box 6 or 7 times in a row already. I take this to mean you don't indent anything you post on the web...or not...the point is I'm not gonna.
Second, Welcome to Nerd-n-Ernie! I've been unemployed, despite my best efforts ;), since the end of July so I've decided the only sensible thing to do is start a blog (naturally). The content is simple; part general nerdery (nerdery, n. anything I read on the interwebs that is so awesome it makes my brain feel squeaky...or makes me laugh real hard) and part original content generated by me, Erin aka Ernie!
This is my outlet to work out the flurry of activity in my brain that was previously dedicated to working my 9-5. It's hard to stay sane when all you have to talk to is the cat see left, who is a horrible conversationalist (even if he does have the best gossip). My wonderful boyfriend was getting bombarded the moment he walked in from work (as a carpenter) with rants on issues he was way to tired to care about or pay attention to if he did. I'm most prone to rants about: The inability of the greater population of the world to care about each other and the lame reasons they use for justification, the futility of the War on Drugs, the government's blatant abuse of the American people's goodwill and anything else that totally pisses me off, so look for plenty of opinion pieces on the evils of this world. I enjoy playing with ideas that challenge some of society's more oppressive operating parameters on topics like: gender roles, education, those damn kids, etc.
Finally, I'll be using this blog as an outlet for working out smaller pieces of larger works (Who hasn't always wanted to quit their job to "write"?) so I welcome constructive criticism, given with a positive spirit, in the comments. I am always trying to grow as a person and, as I respect your journey, I ask you to respect mine. I welcome spirited argument and will try to be humble when I am proved wrong as we all inevitably are.
